CONTROL OF ELECTRONIC SPIN
It is well known that an electron has no mass and has just two properties – charge and spin. The entire industry of electronics was created in 1947 when William Skockley and colleagues at Bell Labs invented the transistor which for the first time controlled the flow of charge of an electron. This invention which was awarded the Nobel Prize directly led to the microprocessor which created the world of electronics in which we live today. NCM has created the first major discovery by the control of spin of an electron. This heralds the beginning of the second electronic revolution.
